Star Trek XI casts young Chekov

Director J.J. Abrams has found his Chekov for his upcoming Star Trek feature film: Russian born actor Anton Yelchin. Yelchin will join Zachary Quinto as Spock, and five other as-yet-uncast actors to play younger generation versions of the characters from the original television series. Little is known about the plot of the film, but it goes without saying that Paramount is hoping for a rebirth of its biggest franchise with this high-profile feature film.
